Why the roofline matters more than it looks
Fascias take the weight of the bottom row of tiles and carry the guttering. Soffits close the underside of the eaves and let the loft breathe. Gutters move thousands of litres of Cheshire rainwater away from your walls every year. When any part fails, water ends up where it shouldn't: soaking rafter feet, staining brickwork, feeding damp inside and undermining the roof edge.
Warning signs include peeling paint and soft, rotten fascia boards, gutters that overflow or drip from joints, staining down walls, and birds or squirrels coming and going at the eaves. Catch it early and it's a roofline job; leave it and it becomes a timber and damp job.
Replacement done properly — not capped over rot
Where boards have failed we remove them back to sound timber rather than cladding over decay, check and treat rafter ends, then fit full-replacement uPVC fascias and ventilated soffits with new guttering set to the correct fall. Eaves protection and bird comb are fitted where needed so the felt line and loft stay sealed.
uPVC roofline needs no painting and won't rot, warp or flake — a wash down is all it asks. Paired with a re-roof, it's the finishing touch that makes the whole elevation look new; as a standalone job it's one of the fastest kerb-appeal upgrades a house can get. We also carry out gutter repairs, re-alignment and replacement lengths where a full renewal isn't needed.
